Premier League top-four odds: Chelsea shorten after home win

The latest Premier League top-four odds make fourth-placed Chelsea 4/11 to secure Champions League football after beating Fulham

With Manchester City and Manchester United removed from the betting, Leicester City and Chelsea are favourites in the latest Premier League top-four odds.

Chelsea beat Fulham 2-0 on Saturday and remain fourth on 61 points, a place and two points behind the Foxes, who were held to a 1-1 draw at Southampton on Friday.

Liverpool are 9/4 third favourites after their match against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday was postponed. They are seventh, on 55 points but now have a game in hand on the teams around them. West Ham United (4/1) and Spurs (7/1) beat Burnley and Sheffield United respectively to remain fifth and sixth, on 58 and 56 points.

Who will finish in the top four of the Premier League?

As implied by the latest bookmakers’ odds.

Blue is the colour in race for third and fourth

With four rounds of matches remaining, here’s our assessment of the teams still in with a chance of finishing in the top four, with Manchester City and Manchester United removed from the betting.

3rd Leicester City – 2/7

Brendan Rodgers’s side are five points clear of fifth-placed West Ham and face Newcastle United at home on Friday. While that is a match they would expect to win, they finish the season away to Manchester United and Chelsea, and at home to Tottenham, and any slip-ups in the final two games against rivals for a top-four spot could be costly. P34 63pts

4th Chelsea – 4/11

Saturday’s victory at home to Fulham led to their odds being cut, but next up is an away fixture against a Manchester City side for whom victory would clinch the title. Subsequent matches at Arsenal and Leicester could drag them back into the scrap for fourth. P34 61pts

5th West Ham – 4/1

Monday’s victory away to Burnley keeps alive the Hammers’ hopes of a first appearance in the Champions League and their run-in – Everton (h), Brighton (a), West Brom (a) and Southampton (h) – is friendlier than those of the sides around them. P34 58pts

6th Tottenham – 7/1

Gareth Bale’s hat-trick helped Spurs to a 4-0 home victory over Sheffield United on Sunday and the first three of their final four fixtures all look winnable, with a trip to Leeds United followed by home games against Wolves and Aston Villa. However, a trip to Leicester on the final day of the season could be a shoot-out for one of the remaining Champions League spots. P34 56pts

7th Liverpool – 9/4

The postponement of Sunday’s match at Old Trafford gives Liverpool a game in hand on the teams above them. Their other matches are at home to Southampton and Crystal Palace and away to West Brom and Burnley, however, in this strangest of seasons, they have won only one of the reverse fixtures against those teams, when they thrashed Palace 7-0 in December. P33 55pts
